How about since Win7 is RTM...... (VI CLient)

Weel this is good the $199 Workstation supports win 7

And my $22,000 infrastructure gets no love

Hey VMware WAKE UP!!!!!!!! Can we please get an official VI Client!!!!!! Windows 7 beta has only been around about a year. I guess that wasnt enough time for you to make it work.

When can all the admins of the world actuall get a officially supported VI client for windows 7 anytime soon?

I know it would be a forward looking statement, but seriously some indication about WHEN it's actually coming would have been highly appreciated. Like a blog post to at least acknowledge that this is being worked on .....

Update 1? 11/19?

I know your pain. I have spent well over $22,000, prob much closer to the $100,000 range, on VMWare license over the past several years and there is no love for me either. I have a half million dollar infrastructure I cannot control from my new 64-bit Quad Core Windows 7 workstation. I could only imagine how the heavy users with large Clusters feel. The least they could do is make this work for us without going through a long list of things like copying DLLs and DEVPATHs. if we can hack a solution to make it work, their developers shouldn't have any issues fixing it.

Seriously guys, this is not only ridiculous, it is unacceptable. You were plenty forward thinking to support Win7 VMs well before its official release. Did it ever occure to anyone that some of us early adopters MIGHT want to control out VMs through Win7? No supporting it in beta is one thing, but once it is released you should have already had the vSphere client ready for download. it's not like every man, woman and child did not know it was coming. We all knew Vista was short lived about an hour after it's official launch.

So simple even "A CAVEMAN" could have figured it out. . . .to quote another company's phrase.
