I got my iScsi WOrking fine afer a long time, and trying hard. But now the problem i ran into, when enabling Jumbo frames 9000 on the iSCSI Swtich the iSCSi Path dies and my DATAstore dissapears. The MD3000i/Dell 5424 all have jumbo frame enabled.
How did you enable Jumbo frames? Did you follow the official documentation?
Does your physical switch support Jumbo Frames?
André
Yes it does support jumbo frames physical switch. I am using the Broadcom iSCSI.
Also perhaps check that all defined jumbo frame sizes are the same end-to-end, i.e. that they're all set to 9000 and not some other number in between 1500 and 9000.
Switch is set to 9000 + vSwitch 9000 + SAN 9000.
Is your VMkernel port set to 9000 too? Can you utilizing vmkping at 9000 and hit the SAN without any issues?
What does vmkping -s 9000 <Storage_IP> from your ESXi server give you?
Same for vmkping -s 8000 <Storage_IP> ??
both get a reply.
broadcom and iscsi works fine but had some issues with broadcom iscsi and jumbo frames myself...
ensure your server firmware and nic firmware is upto date.
