ESXi Instalation Failed to load lvmdriver

When installing ESXi the process fails with this MSG "Failed to load lvmdriver"

When I research this msg serveral threads suggest the use of a noncompatable network card is the issue

Fine so, I triy a dozen cards that we have with no success

So I do more searching, looking for the HCL for this product.

Hours later I still cannot find list of network cards that I can go out and buy to make this work.

I'm going in circles now getting very iritated on the support sites.

I have found this site wich is usless----- http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?action=search&deviceCategory=server&product...

To get people hooked and comfortable on VMware we need to be able to install it.

Why can't the installation let us know where it failed or give us an opportunity to install a driver?

If this is my problem I simply want a list of of network cards that i can go out and buy

Vmware website people you really need to sit behind someone like me as I search for the simplest piece of information.

You would learn volumes to make the site better.

The Hardware Compatibility List has Light Blue Tabs along the top of the search list. Select IO Devices Tab. Under type select Network. You can choose your favorite manufacturer and search.

ESXi is primarily intended for server platforms which it does a pretty good job of supporting. For unsupported hardware platforms you can have a look at http://vm-help.com There are lists of hardware devices that people have managed to get working.
