ESXi 5 - HP Smart Array Alert

I have ESXi 5 running on an HP DL380 G7 server. What does the HP Smart Array Alert mean? Does it mean firmware upgrade? How does the server know that there is a newer firmware available? I didn't have this alert a couple months back.

I checked the raid controller via bios and didn't see any errors. RAID is in optimal condition.

What version of the management bundles have you installed?
