ESXI Network Driver for Windows 7 VM

After years of wanting to I have finally got the proper hardware together and created 3 VM's on ESXI 4.1.

The VM's are one MS Small Business Server 2003, one Centos 5.5 and a Windows 7 Pro. I have a few problems although so fare I have been able to turn off the old physical SBS 2003 and Centos Server.

One of the main issue is that I cannot find a driver for the network ports created for Windows 7. Without them the VM is pretty useless.

I have installed VMWare tools but no difference.

Any idea where I am going wrong?

Freddie

Have you setup the VM to use the e1000 network adapter type?

No, it was setup with two NIC's called "flexible"

I have deleted them and added one E1000

Network now works.

Thanks.

I guess the convert physical to virtual routine is not all that good...

Thanks again

After conversion you should remove old physical device drivers and associated software.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539
