Connections Problem On JAVA Site with Virtualized Environment

Hi,

We are having some problems moving a web site from a PHYSICAL environment to a VIRTUAL environment. We are using ESXi / Vsphere 4. We are using APACHE, TOMCAT and MYSQL.

On the physical environment, the connections a 'recycled' correctly. We have 3000 concurrent users per servers (4 servers total) and 1 mysql database. On average, there are 50 connections open to the database.

We moved exactly the same configuration to VMWARE VMs (on our last test, we kind of clone the content of the physical server). Everything works perfect, except the connections are not 'reused'... and starts growing until the server crashes. At the crash point, we have thousands of TIME_WAIT connections.

We are using E1000 virtual nics. We are about to try VMXNET3.

Anyone had similar problems?

Since you have had no takers on this you might want to try the springsource forums http://forum.springsource.org/
