Balloon Driver related!!

I have a VM with below condition..

1) VM1 -> VMTools Daemon is “running at VM1 OS” &  "OK at VC"

2) VM1 # ps -ef | grep -i vmmemctl (Return no output - means vmmemctl daemon not running)

3) esxtop (MCTL Field) shows “N” for VM1 (Means Balloon driver not working from ESX view) - as per below URL

     http://www.shogan.co.uk/vmware/checking-that-a-vm-has-the-vmware-balloon-driver-running/comment-page...

What steps - Do I need to take to make (above Points 2&3) Green (Without Re-installing VMTools)

-> VMtools are good as per Point1 (above)

Let me know If any more details requried... Thank you in advance..

As per VMware support - we need to install OS Specific Pack (OSP - VMTools) for certain Linux Versions

My Linux is (SUSE 9 SP3) here..

http://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/4.1u1/sles9/i586/index.html

As of now There is no certified method to "Re-install only Balloon driver i.e vmmemctl module" in linux..

In the case "VMTools shows OK - but Balloon driver does not work" -> Only way is to re-install "VMtools"

Few Guest OS - does not work via "upgrade VMTools form VC" - Need OS specific VMTools packs to be installed (like above URL)

Thank you for your views...
