Adding a network interface to the service console to access a different subnet

Currently I have an esx4.1 host with a service console.

It is connected to a 172.20.32 subnet on its on virtual switch.

I have another virtual switch that the sc is not on that is connected with a subnet that is dedicated to backups and interserver communications.  We call this the "Backend Network".  It is on 172.19.8 subnet.

Our backup software requres that the sc have access to the backup target that is on the "Backend Network".  I need to set up the SC so that it can see this target and be able to route traffic through the 172.19.8 subnet.

Is this possible, and how would I do it?

The easiest way would e to add a second Service Console to the virtual switch on the  172.19.8 subnet

Routing could be an option.

But, as suggestest in the previous post, could be better use a second Service Console.

I added a second service console to the vswitch that was connected to this network.  I worked very very well.

Thanks for the help.
