Folder redirection of Favorites, UEM, Edge

We are using Folder redirection of favorites and a few other folders. We know that combining Folder Redirection and using UEM to manage favorites is not the best thing you can do. At this moment we need to keep using Folder Redirection.

We configured UEM to not manage Favorites by editing the Internet Explorer template, is this the right way?:

We also manger Edge with UEM, but i dont know how to exlude favorites from Edge (if important?)

Hi,

Using "#" is indeed the correct way to exclude lines from export.

The path Microsoft Edge is using to save the favorites is:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Default

That would do the trick for IE. You don't actually need to exclude the two files as you no longer include their parent folder, but it won't do any harm like this either.

As for Edge, I don't think it uses a single file per favorite anymore. However, I also don't think it is affected by folder redirection of the Favorites folder, so you probably don't need to tweak anything over there.

First test shows that exclusion of favorites is now working correctly.

Have to do more testing to see if managing favorites using UEM gives us more flexibility when comparing to folder redirection.
