Ubuntu Linux P2V issues

Hi,

We are trying to P2V some physical Ubuntu servers across to our Vsphere 5.5 cluster (using SAN storage over FC), with standalone converter 5.5. However, we constantly get this error below.

The Helper VM is being given an IP in the same range as the VM the converter is running from, and that has full access to port 22 on the physical server. So access should be technically fine. Any ideas on this ? Smiley Happy

Could you upload a log bundle?

Hint: check for other required ports in User's manual.

Logs attached (check any errors from the 23.09).

I've read through the documentation for Linux here: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101005...

However, it's a little confusing as to what actually will apply to us outside of port 22 and 443 ?

Why you using Converter 5.0? There is version 5.5, I strongly recommend you to use newest version available.

From the log - the VMDK files succed to be opened from Converter Server, so the problem must be in HelperVM and its access to ESX.

Try newer version and share the result.
