KVM Conversion?

Has anyone successfully converted a KVM VM to ESXi 5 using VMware Converter 5?

  1. Install Converter within the KVM virtual machine
  2. Launch the converter
  3. Click on “Convert Machine” on the upper left corner of the vCenter Converter window and choose Powered on VM - this local machine
  4. Enter the VC/ESX credentials

Should work

I am sure there'll be a bunch of methods - given the fact that people are always on the lookout of virtualization nirvana and a quick google search brought me to the below blog

You can basically see what optio works for you but techncially it's a questions you would find the best answers for in the KVM communities as there would already be a bunch of people who would have already tried it and would be well versed with the least painful process involved :smileyblush:

not sure why you would want to go from vmware to KVM on Centos...

i will have to check into this
