vCenter Service overall health changed from `yellow` to `red`

Hi,

Lately we get sometime email alerts from operations manager like  the title above changed from yellow to red or from red to yellow.

It's strange because nothing seems to be wrong.

When looking at the details of the alert there is only a mention that we need to check the vCenter management webservice but this one is running.

Any Idea?

that is the Health as reported by VC itself.
You can check it in VI-client: Home -> vCenter Service Status

also you'll see why it's not "green", and what has to be fixed.

The fault will go away once health is back to "green".

see attached snapshot from VI-client

Any Triggers that have been configured on the vCenter?

"The vCenter Server system is configured with a set of predefined alarms  that monitor clusters, hosts, datacenters, datastores, networks, and  virtual machines"

No we just use operations manager 'out of the box'

Indeed it seems that the status was always orange becaus our vcenter is not installed in a domain but in a workgroup.

Now I have to check why is goes sometimes to red. Usaly it happens during the night

Alsa make sure all the vmware services is running and started on the vcenter server under services. Everything that states Automatic must be started.
