vCAC 6 cannot see vSphere computer resources

Can anyone help? I can see vSphere Compute Resources in my Fabric Groups (which implies my endpoint is configured correctly) but not in my vSphere Endpoint which is stopping me from creating a reservation. I have no errors in my vSphereAgent Log.

In the Fabric Group, check the little check box next to the compute resources.

OK, as I read this you cannot see the compute resource from the endpoint.  To clarify, you cannot see them when you create a new reservation from the Reservations view?

No I cannot see them in the reservations view either, so the drop down box is empty.

Sorry to ask basic questions, but you have already created a BG as well?

Not yet, decided to try fix this first. Should I try this?

Seems like I have run into that before so give it a shot.  Also, just make sure you have added yourself (or whatever admin user) to the FG admins.

So the resource shows in the enterprise group of which your account is an administrator and you selected the specific resource for the ability to assign it but it isn't showing as a computer resource for reservations? Have you gone into computer resources under enterprise administrator and done an inventory data collection?

If resource is not detected, please reinstall Proxy agent by selecting custom option.

  1. Login to IaaS host,  Uninstall the agent from Add remove program
  2. Restart the IAAS host
  3. Run Setupxxxxx.exe as administrator select custom optionàProxy agentà install
  4. Also, make sure the domain administrators or the Admins or users are added in the VCenter permission with administrator privileges.

This is was an advanced install of proxy agent?

What status of Proxy Agent? (Infrastructure - > Compute Resources - > Compute Resources)

If you have already created a Sphere endpoint for use with this agent, the endpoint name must match exactly.

UPDATE - you will need to make sure that MSDTC is configured on both the IaaS server and the SQL server for a distributed install.  (Thanks to Steve Kaplan for pointing this out)
