How can a user request more resources to the administrator for an existing virtual machine

Hi all,

How can a user request more resources for one of his/her existing virtual machines. What kind of policy I need to setup and how should I associate it. so that when a User request for instance more memory RAM the request is sent to the administrator so that he can either approve or reject it ???

And another question  Does anyone know why when I go to Items->Machine and the click on any of my items and then click on the "Action" menu, Only two options are displayed "Connect by Using RDP" and "Connect by Using VMRC" as shown in the attached figure.  What can i do to also see the "destroy" "expire" "power off/on" "edit" options.

Thank you so much

My problem was that those options were not shown under the "Items & Approvals" tab.

The solution of my problem is under this link http://www.virtualizationteam.com/cloud/vcac-6-missing-vm-actions.html

Thank so much though

There is an option called reconfiguration of VM which has to be enabled and entitled to user so he can reconfigure (Edit/ request) his machines.

You can tag a approval policy for this so it goes through an approval workflow.

Even other actions have to be entitled the in the same way. Administrator has to go to entitlements for that particular user and give him permission to destroy/perform more actions.

So simple answer is, look at the entitlements to see what all user can/cannot do.

Login into vCAC as tenant administrator and navigate to Administration>catalog management> Entitlements.

Select the existing entitlement and then go to "items and approvals" then under entitled actions you will find it.

Refer the screen shot.

once you do this the user will get an option for reconfiguration on his VM actions
