Good afternoon,

We have a Horizon Cloud in Azure environment and obviously utilize the built in App Volumes application capture and delivery module. Although we have done basic/intermediate training on App Volumes there isn't an official course available from what I can see that takes a deeper dive into the solution. e.g. Knowing the apps that will work or have issues being an App Volume, workarounds to help deal with badly written apps that have user environment changes/complexities etc, legacy office add-ins etc, best practice when dealing with dependencies such as being in the App Volume or better served in the base image and advanced troubleshooting. Is anyone aware of a course or material that we could utilise?

Many thanks

Sean

Good Afternoon,

Could someone please recommend some good automation tools/scripts for the general admin on Horizon Cloud image management so with changes each month, patching, new versions of base apps etc.

Also, with the command line version of capturing/updating new apps for App Volumes and ways to automate that. In our POC we found that to be better than the native GUI/VM method.

And any other good tips in general.

Many thanks

Sean

Good Morning,

I'm new to ThinApp and have been playing about with the 4.xx version. However when I ThinApp IE 8.0 on a Vista host using the default method, the performance isn't great with a large pause between sites when browsing. I'm assuming there are post install tasks that need to be completed aftewards for performance?

Has anyone got a good step by step guide? I'm also thinking it might be best to use an Xp VM instead of Vista when doing the capture?

Many thanks

Re: Windows 7 - Multi-Screen Support

Many thanks guys. However given that I'm a complete novice at the moment, could some kind soul please enter the steps to complete the tasks in View Composer, vSphere etc?

Basically the master image in the View Manager 4 Console has been setup with Up to 2 Screens Support and 1600 x 1200.

However when I try and edit the master VM in the vSphere Console it will not save with Up to 2 Screens.

What I'm looking for is for a PC to automatically detect the fact that a single screen is present or a dual screen if that is the case.

At the moment when we have a dual screen it splits it in half.

Afternoon All,

I've had a few issues with getting Windows 7 to work 100% ( I know it's not fully supported) however I've managed to get most of them working now. The one thing I still can't get to the bottom to is the support for multi-screen? Are there specific steps / workarounds anybody knows that I can follow and get working with dual screens successfully?

Many thanks

Sean

I know that Windows 7 is not fully supported on VMWare View 4. However I was wondering if anybody has come across the following issues and know of workarounds?

1) Multi-screen doesn't appear to work. When you set it up for dual screen it ends up splitting it in half and you get black space eiether side on each monitor?

2) Outlook 2007 has a very bad typing lag where it freezes every few seconds when typing an e-mail and only works properly when being run in safe mode? One of the add-ins is probably causing it but wondered if anybody else has come across this?

3) It takes 3 or 4 attempts to get logged onto the Windows 7 VDI from the View Client. I know this is an issue with Win 7 but wondered if there is a workaround? Also, we use Single Sign On Software ( Imprivata ) which populates apps with your credentials when launched. Does anybody know if SSO is supported in View 4?
