I'm unsure why exactly blast needs the firewall enabled, but with an exception to allow the traffic. However this is what it states in the admin guide, and for various customers of mine who have faced the same issue enabling the firewall and then the blast exception has resolved the issue.

Most of my customers are only using blast externally with View Security Servers, which also require that the connection server has the firewall enabled anyway, to create the IPSEC tunnel between connection and security server. You could put your Connection servers in their own OU and create a new group policy to enable the firewall just for these servers

I have downloaded and installed the vCops virtual appliance but it says the license is incorrect when i try to apply the vCops for View license. From reading the docs it appears we need a vCops Enterprise license?? How do i apply the licenses we have? I just need the View parts working.

Thanks

In Horizon 6 Workspace is not named as a product but the App delivery and App store effect is built in however the data part no longer exists in 6."

Is it being removed entirely? How will users of the data component be able to upgrade to future version, or will they have to decommission their file part?

The full chain is presented on the load balancer and connector VA including the server, intermediate and root CA certs.

User access to the internet (ie to verify the Root CA) is via a proxy server that uses their AD credentials. IE is configured via group policy to use this proxy. proxy is bypassed for internal LAN connectivity to Workspace.

If a user opens the workspace URL https://workspace.domain.org using Internet Explorer they get no SSL certificate errors and it validates the complete SSL chain.

When the user opens the workspace agent they get an error prior to logging on "unable to get local issuer certificate". Once they accept this error and login they never see it again - unless they log out of workspace and need to log in again

Is it possible that the workspace agent is not using the IE proxy configuration initially, hence the reason it cannot validate the SSL chain?

How can we resolve this? If they browse to the ThinApp repository and try to launch the app directly it says they are not allowed.

I am unsure where to go from here. The users can get other thinApps they are entitled to, and the ThinApp with the issue works for some users but not all.

i have checked the directory sync and that appears to be fine - the users are in the correct groups and workspace does see the correct users as having the entitlements - its just the users that are not seeing it

Right now there is the default connector which has useGatewayAsIDP = Y and a 2nd connector i added with useGatewayAsIDP = N

Do i need to add a 3rd then load balance those 2 or can i edit the config of the default one?

No the cert is a specific one generated for workspace.

In the root CA field in the Workspace wizard i have tried entering the intermediate cert and the root cert, both don't work.

I havent tried changing the DNS to the gateway. originally the config was just pointing at the gateway by its host name. I was thinking about trying that but wasn't sure if it would cause future issues when i then want to move to the load balancer

I'm having the same issue, brand new Workspace 1.5 with agent 1.5.1 and this is across all machines.

The thinapp.exe and .dat files are downloaded but the shortcuts are not registered.

I ran a trace log and for some reason it says the following:

[hzntaclnt::InstallDb::DoInstallFile] File not launchable: thinreg skipped

but all the entries after that make it appear that the file is installed so it doesnt try to run thinreg again. i have attached the trace log to this post

If i manually run thinreg from the C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\Horizon ThinApp folder it registers the Thinapp shortcuts correctly

I have tried setting the reg key for DesktopRefresh to 2 also with no luck

Hi

I have workspace set up and working. i now wish to move it to a pair of kemp load balancers. I have configured the virtual IP for my load balancers and pointed it to the gateway servers, and configured DNS accordingly

I have created my SSL cert (signed by a commercial CA - globalsign) and have both the cert and private key as pem. I have applied these to my load balancers

I have placed the intermediate and root CA certs also on the load balancers, as well as the gateway root CA certificates from my horizon workspace VMs so the load balancer trusts them.

When i try to run the FQDN and SSL wizard i do the following:

External Load balancer: ticked

Horizon workspace FQDN: FQDN that matches the load balancer certificate

Load balancer root CA certificate: i have pasted the contents of the intermediate CA from globalsign CA

I then get the error: Unable to establish SSL connection to FQDN with the Root CA.

The details of the error:

com.vmware.horizon.configurator.exception.VMException: VM.INVALID_ROOT_CA.11 at
