Hi Guys,

I am planning to upgrade my VCenter which is running on VC 5..5 Update 2 and ESXi host is running on 5.5 Update 3. I am seeking your advice to know if I can upgrade directly from VC 5.5 U2 (2001466) to 6.5 U2 and ESXi 5.5.U3 (3116895) to 6.5 U2? All components of VC including SSO installed on the same windows server.

I was looking into the following link but to avoid any doubts, post the question here.

VMware Product Interoperability Matrices

Your help will be appreciated.

Regards

Naveed

I have tried to increase the size of the VM but the option to increase is disabled. I have also tried to use VMware Converter to change the size of the VM but the option to change the VM size does not appear. I would appreciate if any of you has any experience or idea to increase the VM size?

Regards

Waydees

Thanks Mike for your promot and perfect reply. I would be greatful to you if you could advise me for setting up my Vmware site with high availabilty and Business continuty. I dont have any SAN but interested to go for the option of SAN with two VMWare Hosts and a remote site for business continuty. I just wanted to know that if I go for VMWare Vsphere Enterprise with SRM , would i be able to achive my goal ? or I need to go for a third party solution for replication b/w local and remote sites ? Any suggestion and advise in this respect would be highly appreciated.

Regards

WAYDEES

Now I wanted to know that is there any possibilty that if I have two ESX Vsphers 4 hosts containing VMs in two different sites (Protectiona and Recovery) can be replicated while I dont have any SAN or NAS, instead I have only DAS. Please let me know if it can be done through any budgeted third party solution while VMWare has no solution for it.

Regards

Naveed

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum but hoping to get solutions of my issues. I am using VMware VSphere 4 with two sites, on for protection and the other for recovery. I have installed SRM on Sites for testing purpose.

I would like to know that I am not using any External storgae /Array like SAN or NAS and using the direct storage with ESX servers. When I am trying to setup tyhe Site Recovery I could not confiure Array becaue of the above reason.

When I try to create protection group, I couldnt do that as the create option is disabled

Therefore, When I create a recovery plan I couldnt find any protection group in the list.

The configuration I have made on Recovery sites are not reflected on Protection site and vice versa. while connection is configured successfully and showing connected.

I would appreciate if any of you can guide me in this regard ? as I am not sure whether I can use SRM with storage.

Regards

Waydees
