Hi Mark,

We have the same situation in our organization. Is it possible for you to help us with some VMware docs that explains this.

I would really appreciate it.

User immidiatly logsoff after logging in/ View client uninstall from view agent VM/ Nested view clients

Issue:

After uninstalling view client 3.2 from a windows 7 VM which is running view agent inside it, The user(local or domain) immediately logs off after logging in.

If the user is added to the local admin account them he is able to login.

Symptoms:

When you try to log on to a Windows 7-based computer, you briefly receive a "Welcome" message, and then you are logged off

Security events on the affected VM:

The user that is logged in or other users show as the below event.

Windows Event 4634

An account was logged off.

Subject:

      Security ID: ANONYMOUS LOGON

   Account Name: ANONYMOUS LOGON

   Account Domain: NT AUTHORITY

   Logon ID: 0x149be

Logon Type: 3

This event is generated when a logon session is destroyed. It may be positively correlated with a logon event using the Logon ID value. Logon IDs are only unique between reboots on the same computer.

The Application events on the affected VM show that following warning:

The Windows logon process has failed to spawn a user application. Application name: . Command line parameters

Source: Winlogon

Event ID: 4006

Level: Warning

Follow below article to modify registry

Resolution:

This issue happens because the view client after uninstall corrupts the view agent registry entries (winlogon--> Userinit--> registry entries)

The main registry entry that is corrupted is scanner redirection.

To resolve this issue

- After uninstalling the view client

- Reboot the VM

- Repair the view agent installation by running the installer.

- Reboot the VM

Alternatively you can change the registry entries

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929825
