Hi,

Did you ever manage to get anywhere with this?

I have a similar post in the VMware Workstation Player community, but it has received no responses.

https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Workstation-Player/Compatibility-with-Hyper-V-on-Windows-Server-2022-host/m-p/2940536

VMware Workstation Pro/Player v17 is listed as supported on Windows Server 2022 on the following page :-

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/80807

I have even tried a later release (v17.0.1) and it still complains about Hyper-V during install.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Should I be able to run VMware Workstation Player 17 on a Windows Server 2022 host running Hyper-V?

When I run the installation, I get the following message :-

This host supports the Windows hypervisor platform, but the implementation
is incompatible with VMware Workstation 17 Player. Remove the Hyper-V role
from the system before running VMware Workstation Player.

For more details, reference to the following Knowledge Base article.
Minimum requirement for Windows Host VBS support in VMware Workstation [https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/76918]

The indicated article only makes any reference to Windows 10 as a supported host operating system.

This is for my home lab. I don't have any need to run VMware Workstation Player VMs and Hyper-V VMs concurrently, but I would like to be able to run each on the same host.

Found this article that states that Windows Server 2022 is a supported host for VMware Workstation 17 [https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/80807].

Thanks.
