The deployed environment consists of Instant Clone VDI and App Volumes, virtualizing applications and enabling Writable Volumes to record application and user data. Now, it has been observed that an App Volume or Writable Volume is mounted onto an Instant Clone VDI, executing Excel 2016 Macros takes more than twice as long compared to the same Instant Clone VDI without App Volume VMDK mounted.

App volume 4.4.4.6
Office 2016 (Installed in Golden Image)

Is there anyone available to assist with resolving this issue?

Disable Log Off from the menu bar

How to disable Log Off from the menu bar on the Horizon client?

Or If there's a way to configure that log Off from the menu bar and show the message the same as using the Windows Start menu to log off from within the remote desktop?

How to access a writable volume via manual mount it to a VM.

A domain user account was removed by an IT's mistake. I tried to manually mount the user's writable volume to a VM and read via a local admin account, but couldn't see the user's data.

Does anyone know how to access it?

I found the issue is the snapshot of the parent VM. The top snapshot has to use the Distributed Switch group.

In connection server, edit the vdi to connect specific domain controllers via ADSI Edit.

In Domain controller, configurated the VDI IP range subnet to use a specific Domain Controller Group Sites.

Can not change Network on VDI Pool

Hello,

Don't know why the instant clone pool can't choose the select network.

I have configured a Distributed Switch with static bind ports and with the parent VM. The same instant clone desktop pool can see the distributed group few times, but most time can't see any.

Anyone have the same problem or any ideas what I can do?

I have found the issue and resolved the problem.

I would like to share it, domain controller caused my issue. There are multi-domain controllers and sites in the environment. Few domain controllers have problems which caused the issue. I did a configuration to make the VDI link a healthy Domain Site to resolve the problem.

Hi,

We have an issue when users log off their VDI, the machine will have the message" Instant Clone agent initialization state error (6) unknown failure".

We deployed a dedicated instant clone pool, the user can login at the first time, but if the user choose logoff, the machine will start to auto-refresh. After it, the issue will happen, can't repair via restart or recover the machine.

I would like to ask if anyone can provide help to resolve the issue.
