You should be able to find the new appvolume and during the assignment process, you can select to mount immediately for the user or groups you entered.

Windows Firewall rules on Connection servers would be a good idea based on the network ports document above. If you have DMZ UAG appliances, the network ports document explains what network related FW rules for those also.

It depends on what type of device is connection to the VDI machines.

Talk to your reseller and they should be able to help with VDA licenses.

Also you want to review the F5 documentation on load balancing UAGs in F5.

At the top of page 23 in that PDF, related to OneConnect is what helped us. We change to not using OneConnect and it resolved our issue. It is related to newer UAGs not allowing multiplexing from F5.

I was hoping that it was just an issue of not running vdmadmin in an elevated context. I have run vdmadmin in powershell, but have gotten used to using View CLI shortcut.

Some questions to dig deeper.

How many other users are in your Instant Pool and do not have the 10 minute issue?
Are you calling flexengine with GPO method?
Are you deploying the Instant Clone machines in the OU path to get the GPO.?
Is your base image configured to connect App Volumes manager? If it is, the base image machine name should show up in the App Volumes manager activity logs. That is usually a good sign that the connection to AppVol manager is working. Then once the pool is deployed, you should see the instant clone machines also show up in AppVol manager activity logs.

Hope these questions help you dig a bit deeper.

Are you using the View CLI as an admin on connection server, and then your command That usually works for us.

We are interested in helping to speed up VDI logins with FSLogix but want to make sure we have a robust file services option. But the storage requirements worry us. What is everyone using to provide file shares. We are worried about Windows Servers and reboots for patching ripping out the user's VHD drive from machine.
