I'm running the tech preview on a 2022 M2 MacBook Air. I upgraded to Sonoma yesterday. If VoiceOver isn't running, my Windows 11 virtual machine starts normally. However, if VoiceOVer is running, the VM won't start. If I turn on VoiceOver after the VM is running, it is switched off within a few seconds.

Hi. I have an M2 MacBook Air running the latest version of Ventura and am running the tech preview. I have a Windows 11 virtual machine that is working great. If I upgrade to Sonoma, am I likely to run into issues with it? I can't find any information about the tech preview's compatibility with Sonoma. Thanks.

Thanks very much for the information, Paul. I'll try unchecking the automatic time setting and see if things work correctly. The main reason for syncing the two is that when I go to a different time zone, usually Windows continues to show my time zone while the Mac shows the correct one. This can get a bit confusing at times.

I'm running Windows 11 with the tech preview on an M2 MacBook Air. I use broadcasting software called Station Playlist Studio (www.stationplaylist.com) to do Internet broadcasting. If I have the Synchronize Time option checked in Advanced settings for my VM, the clock in Windows begins losing time as soon as I start Station Playlist. By the time an hour has gone by, the clock is around 8 minutes slow. This does not happen if I uncheck the Synchronize Time option. That is a tolerable work-around, but I like the idea of being able to synchronize the Windows and Mac clocks, and if I'm experiencing this issue, it's possible it will happen with other software as well.

Thanks for the detailed instructions, Technogeezer. It turns out that in both my production and tech preview versions of Fusion, there is no DVD/CD option in the Virtual Machines menu. Also, if I open Settings in either one and click on Removable Devices, which I assume would be another way to reach these options, nothing happens. The production version of Fusion can handle an external DVD drive just fine; I connected one and was able to play music through Windows with no problem. But in neither version of Fusion do I seem to have the option to point to a disk image and have Windows treat it as a DVD drive. I guess that's why the Install Virtual Tools option is grayed out. Does anyone know how I can restore the DVD/CD functionality to Fusion?

Hello DhairyaT. Thanks so much for your detailed efforts to reproduce my problem. I'm surprised everything worked normally for you, since I've had the problem on two different machines, one Intel and one Apple Silicon, when needing to upgrade virtual machines over the course of a couple of years. I had to build my Apple Silicon Mac software from scratch, so I have had the problem on two really separate machines. I attached the files you requested. There may be some log files from my production VMware Fusion app as well, but I thought it was better to include files you don't need than to leave out something you do need. I gathered the logs right after I tried to start my virtual machine in the tech preview with VoiceOver running and VMware Fusion crashed.

Thanks so much to everyone who has tried to help! I am using an M2 MacBook Air, and I tried CallistoJag's first two steps, planning to then use setup.exe to install the tools. However, the Install VMWare Tools option is still grayed out. Since my virtual machine has been working fine and updating correctly since last fall and I have quite a few apps installed, I am very reluctant to start over. I'm also not sure how hard it would be to move my Microsoft license from one VM to another.

The version is Windows 11 Home, 22H2 (OS Build 22621.192). I built it last fall using the instructions in the testing guide and registered it with a Microsoft license key. It has been working well and updating itself regularly since then. Yes, VMware Fusion is configured for a Windows 11 VM. The version of VMware Fusion I was using before trying the preview is Player Version 13.0.2 (21581413). Install Virtual Tools is grayed out in that version as well, but I thought that was probably because the virtual tools didn't work the same way in that version. If there are other settings from that version that would help, let me know. Thanks for trying to help!

I use VoiceOver on an M2 MacBook Air and have been using a Windows 11 VM with the production version of VMware Fusion. When I ran the tech preview and started the VM with VoiceOver running, Fusion crashed. When I ran it without VoiceOver running (using sighted assistance), I was prompted to update the encryption and to update the virtual machine, after which Windows started normally. This problem has occurred in the last several versions of VMware Fusion. I hope it can be fixed before the next production release.

I'm trying to use the Windows software StationPlaylist Studio to broadcast from my Mac from windows 11 using VMware Fusion 13. I added the folder where Apple Music saves my content as a Sharepoint, granted everyone read and write access, open it in file Explorer in Windows, and mapped it to a drive letter. I can open files from that folder manually in StationPlaylist, and they play fine, but when I designate the drive as the folder StationPlaylist should build a search database from, it skips the folder completely. There's no error message; it just won't search the folder. It will search a different folder that I'm sharing, but it's a folder I created rather than one created by Apple Music. I have another Windows search program called Search everything that also skips this folder. Does anyone have any suggestions?
