Re: Some apps do not scale correctly when reconnecting with different display scaling

Hi,

I have tried the latest version(1.55.0.0) of "Winaero Tweaker". It's their application's own issue rather than related to VMware Horizon env.

"Wiaero Tweaker" app cannot normally display for the "System Information" if system dpi and monitor dpi are not matched under Windows OS. You can reproduce the issue easily with the following steps on a Windows machine.

1. Set Windows machine Scale to 100%, then logoff to let the system DPI to 96;

Settings->Display->Scale : 100%

2. Login the Windows, and then change the Scale to 200%(Monitor DPI is 192, and system DPI is 96). Open "Wiaero Tweaker" directly and you will find the abnormal showing.

So I think it is the application's issue rathe than Horizon's issue.

Welcome your comments if you still have questions for the issue.

Thanks!

1. Please try to upgrade you vmware tools to a newer version. Newer vmware tools version should be upgraded corresponding to 7.13 Horizon Agent version;

2, if 1 was no working, Please set the following registries and try.

(Disable Async capture for PCOIP and force the Desktop Duplication for frame capture)

Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware SVGA DevTap
Name: ForceWin32Capture
Type: DWORD32
Value: 1

Registry Key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Teradici\PCoIP\pcoip_admin
Name: pcoip.disable_svga_async_capture
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

Hope the above suggestions will be helpful for you.

Re: Screen resolution at clients x vCenter Console

Hi,

I need to know more about your issue:

(1) Do you use the teridaci host card(work station card) in your environment? You said the issue will disappear if the session is launched with teradici client.

If yes, It's mostly a compatible problem between vmware horizon version and teradici host card version. You need to review teradici release note to check if the horizon version is the one they recommended to use with their Teradici host card version and host card firmware version.

(2) Please provide your OS version, and horizon client/horizon agent version;

(3) Did you mean the issue happen only after upgrading the horizon client version from 7.8 to 7.13, and has no changes to other software versions?(such as VMware horizon agent version, Teradici host card version).

(4) If there is no compatible problem for (1), I think it's necessary to gather horizon client, horizon agent and teradici host card logs together for further analysis. You can upload the log and submit an SR to us. The experienced service members from VMware can help you in a more efficient way.

Best Regards.
