DNS picked during Azure Smartnode deployment, will be used to resolve the AD domain configuration (Even if you have provided the right DNS at the time of configuring DOMAIN

So, It is better to redeploy the POD with the right DNS pointed to Onprem AD in the Azure VNET. Otherwise, contact VMware support to Reset the domain configuration for your account and rebuild it.

>> Now I want to register an additional on-prem Domain to use real users. I´ve create the gateway subnet in the same VNet where the management, service and DMZ subnets are but I´m not sure if this is correct and I should create the whole VPN stuff in a separate VNet and then a new peering to my management, service and DMZ VNet like I see in the examples in the documentation.

The above may not be the right approach (Technically it will work provided there is a right transit peering). Instead, you can plan to have a Virtual WAN and Spoke VNETs attached to it. This way the traffic over VPN will be optimised, and also can scale up with additional VNETs connecting to the HUB VNET, without having VPNs set up each and every time.

For this, you need to recompose from a new snapshot, which will have required nic settings. Because once deployed, replica VM gets locked for any further modification, due tot he fact that all the clones are dependent on it.

But if you are looking for changing the network label of clones, then Replica-Vm's nic settings can be ignored.

Hi nzorm,

The READY doesn't actually implies the desktop status. Theoretically, it just mean that it is ready to accept connection requests. Having said that, the READY state is in context within the system, to ensure if it is in pair with connection broker.

To some extent, I agree that the in-line help or documentation may lead to confusion about to expected behavior of its functionality.

However, if you go through the view administrator guide,

Page 78, "Keeping Linked-Clone Machines Provisioned and Ready During View Composer Operations"

Fourth bullet says:

" The term "ready" applies to the state of the linked-clone virtual machine, not the machine status that is displayed in View Administrator. A virtual machine is ready when it is provisioned and ready to be powered on. The machine status reflects the View-managed condition of the machine. For example, a machine can have a status of Connected, Disconnected, Agent Unreachable, Deleting, and so on."
