You right, but I have a cluster with 3 nodes, one master and two workers.

I have enough space in worker nodes, when one of the nodes becomes full the other nodes should take responsibility for storing new logs instead of retiring the old logs. but my logs while the whole cluster has enough space becomes retire

I planned and Installed vRealize Log Insight as Standalone, but after a few months its space became full and in order to keep more logs and prevent retention, I added a new worker node.
While statistics show the other node receives data but my oldest logs remove and as time goes more and more logs removed. I also added a new worker node to complete the cluster configuration of vRealize log insight. I like to know why my logs from the Master node become deleted? in case one of the nodes become full, logs must automatically transfer to the new worker node instead of removing logs from the master node!

The oldest logs that we have currently kept, for example, is 21/07/2020 04:00 AM, but after two hours the oldest backup becomes 21/07/2020 06:00 AM.

Upgrade to 8.1.1-16281169 already complete.

Hi Guys!

I have already upgraded the Log Insight to 8.1 and it works fine but after I restart it rollbacked to 4.8.

The cluster show 4.8 as version and when I try to update it shows it is currently updated to 8.1 while the cluster and GUI don't seem to be updated and shows the following error:

Upgrade Failed

Upgrade to 8.1.1-16281169 already complete.

the log of update shows everything is fine.

I also add a new hard disk with size 1 TB to increase the disk space of Log insight but after the restart, it doesn't automatically expand the disk.

Hey,

Have you ever tried to reboot it and check SSO again? If you access to ssh, please put the output of this command "service-control --status --all" here to see the status of services. Can you put the complete text of error here? a screenshot would be better!

Hi,

Based on my experience, it occurs throughout installation and remains until VMware Tools is installed.

You have to use your keyboard to install windows in the web console or you can use VMRC, which gives you the ability to work with the mouse.

I am facing these 2 problems these days.

1- What does happen if the user logoff virtual machines? shutdown? Where can I find this parameter to configure?

2- what does happen if I power on the virtual machine directly from vCenter?

I monitored the virtual machine and saw it powered down after 5 minutes, I tested it on another virtual machine and it powered down 10 minutes later and I did it again and again and every time virtual machine powered down after a random time. I don't know this behavior is OK or no?

Can anybody clarify me?

It depends on you and your environment, but you have multiple choices. You can tag VLAN id inside your virtual machine, in the switch or on the physical switch. You have 4 VMs and 2 uplinks, so you can put uplink in trunk mode and create a port group of each virtual machine and set specific VLAN for it, Or you can create a port group and set VLAN id 4095 (trunk mode )then add 4 VMs to this port group and set VLAN id inside of each virtual machine.

Hi!

I am facing a problem in recomposing linked clone desktop pool.After I modified the parent virtual machine and took a snapshot of it, I created new recompose task to apply the new snapshot to the desktop pool. It applies on half of them but some virtual machines suffer from the following errors.

View Composer Fault: Could not find VC object of type VirtualMachine, and id (please check the master VM/snapshot or its replica)

Provisioning error occurred for Machine XXX-Agent: Refit operation resync failed

Or on other virtual machines, it shows it has been applied successfully without error, but when I go through virtual machine setting I noticed it doesn't apply.

I changed virtual machine memory from 4 to 3GB memory. I am wondering why did recompose happen to some virtual machines? while

it didn't happen on others !!

I suggest you boot using windows live and then backup your important data and then install operating system again.

Now you can benefit from VMware workstation for your virtualization environment.

Have you tried to repair windows boot using windows installation media?

You mean you can no longer boot from windows 10?

You can boot up from ESXI while you can't boot from windows 10?

If yes, you should repair boot menu.

In fact you want to install windows and ESXi on one system (Dual Boot).

Yes, I suggest you read this fantastic document about multipathing in ESXi.

But I made mistake and you might be understood wrong. MPIO you can use multiple NIC or HBA to connect to single target which provides you better performance and reliability and load balancing. The previous post was corrected.

As I know, connecting an iscsi LUN to multiple targets and then presenting them to several ESXi hosts cause problems. Because each host connect using own target to storage LUN and it conflicts with the IO request.

Based on my experiences a single target is better because all ESXi hosts are active and only one target manage IO requests.

If your storage device support multipath input-output (MPIO), you can achieve greater throughput by using multiple NICs.

Pay attention you must present the target to all server.

As you mentioned, you can rename vSwitch using esx.conf file but take it in mind you need to reboot host for applying the change.

I think you can't change it using vSphere Web Client. Finally you can create vSwitch using this command:

esxcfg-vswitch -a "name"

I am sure you can create a customize alarm with own message using PowerCLI and based on VMware documents also you can utilize bath file (.bat file) to run when trigger occurred.

I prefer to use PowerCLI to create my customize alarm email action. I suggest you put some times and search VMware Pubs to create an alarm and customize the title and body of email. For example using following command you can create an alarm action to send mail to 1 people and 2 CC people with customize body and

using PowerCLI you can create an alarm email action and customize the title and body of email. For example

Get-AlarmDefinition -Name "Alarm1" | New-AlarmAction -Email -To 'test@vmware.com' -CC @('test1@vmware.com', 'test2@vmware.com') -Body 'Test body' -Subject 'Test subject'

You have problem in storage configuration. Check you storage to see it discovers your host or no ? If yes, check that you give proper permission to the host to see your virtual disk (if you haven't virtual disk, you should create virtual disk or (LUN) as many as you want).
