Wrong keyboard layout on windows 10 2009

Hi everyone,

we are running windows 10 enterprise x64 2009 en-us on horizon 9.0.1 as instant clones. We have trouble with keyboard layouts! Our users running windows 10 pro x64 de-de and want to use a german keyboard. we are working with vmware horizon client 8.1.0.

normally the keyboard layout is used from the client system, but during the work the layout is switchting sporadically to en-us. you have no option inside the vm to switch the layout. You have to disconnect (not logout) from the vm and reconnect, than the keyboard layout setting on the taskbar occurs.

This happens since we have changed the current windows build 2009. Has someone else these effects and has a tip for me?

Thanks in advanced!

regards

Alex

Looking for ADMX setting "remove profiles at logoff" in DEM 9.11

Hi all,

im looking for the ADMX setting "remove profiles at logoff" in VMware DEM 9.11. Is this option lost or moved to another place? I couldnt find in the GPO editor:

the advanced settings are very empty. Ive downloaded the latest release of the DEM from the my.vmware portal and there is no "advanced settings.admx" file anymore. The imported admx files leaves the advanced setting in this state.

Does anyone knows where I can find the option "remove profiles at logoff" or isnt it supported anymore?

regards

Alex

This could be caused by one of more of the following:

a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.

b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).

I checked the logonserver which is used for the clone and its the same which I configured in the horizon daas admin portal...

We are running a VMware DaaS Environment. and Im trying to install the horizon agent silently with the following parameter: VMware-viewagent-x86_64-7.3.2-7161471.exe /s /v" /qn REBOOT=Reallysuppress VDM_VC_MANAGED_AGENT=1 ADDLOCAL=Core,ClientDriveRedirection,PCoIP,ThinPrint,USB,NGVC,RTAV,VmwVaudio,TSMMR"

If i remove the "ClientDriveRedirection" than the installation is running fine. If I add this, the setup failed with 1603. I tried to get a more detailed installation error on the logfile, but couldnt find out the reason. Is there some requirements to install the clientdriveredirection?

2019-03-12 21:47:42| BootStrapper-build-6133938| Begin We are using the security solution palo alto traps for endpoint protection. This software is creating some honeypot files inside of the userprofile. The files are hidden and look likes:

Now i want to exclude this files from uem and tried different ways:

[ExcludeFiles]

!!!!![MATCHALL]

!!!!![MATCHALL].[MATCHALL]

!!!!!*.*

!!!!!*

Nothing is working. The files still in the uem profile. For testing im always deleting the profile.

Can someone tell me the correct syntax?

Were using UEM 9.2.0.794

best regards

Alex

The reason was that we using the VMware Customization Tool and the VMWare official Windows 10 template. There was a setting which disabling the UAC. Ive now modified the template and do a reinstall of the gold image. If its finished i will let you know if this was reason for the error 5.

Thanks!

best regards

Alex

Hi guys,

is someone here who tried to use UEM and UPD? We want to use User Profile Disks because it give us the ability to use dynamic user aissgnment and profile disks on a linked clone pool. But if i try to use UEM for application settings im getting the following error:

2018-06-27 14:31:37.981 [FATAL] Error importing archive '\\***\uemconfig$\General\FlexRepository\Settings\Reg\Mozilla Firefox.zip'.

2018-06-27 14:31:37.981 [ERROR] Error importing UEM settings ('Mozilla Firefox.xml')

2018-06-27 14:31:40.668 [FATAL] FlexUtils::ExecuteCommand: Error 5 calling '"C:\Windows\REGEDIT.EXE" /S "C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp\FLXF4CA.tmp"' (AsUser)

I think the reason is that UEM has a problem with a linked profile. The userprofiledisk looks in the users folder like:

Has someone who tried UPD and UEM and got this working?

Thanks!

regards

Alex

But if i try to use UEM for application settings im getting the following error:

2018-06-27 14:31:37.981 [FATAL] Error importing archive '\\***\uemconfig$\General\FlexRepository\Settings\Reg\Mozilla Firefox.zip'.

2018-06-27 14:31:37.981 [ERROR] Error importing UEM settings ('Mozilla Firefox.xml')

2018-06-27 14:31:40.668 [FATAL] FlexUtils::ExecuteCommand: Error 5 calling '"C:\Windows\REGEDIT.EXE" /S "C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp\FLXF4CA.tmp"' (AsUser)

I think the reason is that UEM has a problem with a linked profile. The userprofiledisk looks in the users folder like:

Has someone who tried UPD and UEM and got this working?

Thanks!

regards

Alex
