Hi,

A customer has 2 AD domains and cannot create a trust relationship.

The virtual desktops are joined to domain A and users are in domain B.

I want to enable the "untrusted domain" feature available since Horizon 2103.

A file sever added to the same domain as virtual desktops (domain A) will store the users roaming profiles. I wonder how I will be able to manage the security permissions on the folders hosting roaming profiles since the file server will not see users from domain B.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes the VM has only 3 snapshots after all others have been deleted from the vSphere GUI.

But in the Datastore browser (my screenshot) VMDK are still present.

After the VM has been moved to another vSAN cluster, vCenter identifies the VMDK files and asks for a disks consolidation, and the consolidation merges correctly VMDK files. As as result the consumed space is drastically reduced.

I asked the customer and he told me these VM are not backed up so, it can't be a failed backup job which would retain the VMDKs. And there is still a lot of free space on the vSAN Datastore.

Thanks

Sure, here are the files located in the vSAN Datastore:

This VM has only 3 snapshots.

For information, after a Storage VMotion to another vSAN Cluster, I see a "considation needed status" message on the VM summary. I will try to consolidate to see if VMDK are properly deleted.

Hi,

On a vSAN / vSphere 7 cluster, when I delete snapshots on a virtual machine, the deletion seems to work correctly but VMDK files are not deleted in the Datastore folder. As a result, the space consummed by the VM is very high, more than 2 TB for example (with FTT=1).

Is there a way to delete these VMDK properly?

Thanks

Hi,

Is there a way to know which files are stored inside VDMK delta disks of Instant Clones virtual desktops? On a new deployment of Horizon 8, deltas VMDK are between 10 and 20 GB, although the virtual desktop has just started!

Virtual desktops are configured with 8 GB of memory, the Windows swap is configured in automatic. All auto update services are disabled (browsers, Windows update, etc.). Roaming profiles are managed by FSLogix and no data is copied on C:\Users (exept local_username but this folder is around 20 MB).

I would like to know what generates so much temporary data inside virtual desktops.

Thanks

On the Windows 10 computer log files I see a message

Error NativeEnrollment.Pages.DmCertificateReadPage.HandleDmClientEnrollment_$_
Enrollment Certificate not found.

I don't know which certificate it talks about, my certificate is valid and is installed into IIS properly.
