VMware aria for logs 8.12 on-prem. What is the maximum for dashboard duration in reports? I see that in documentation for Aria (SaaS) the maximum is 7 days. I don't see maximum in docs for Aria not as Saas. I am trying to schedule report from 'Snapshot' Dashboard which is collecting data for the last 48 hours but Report does not run if I select dashboard duration longer than 5 mins which is the default

Thank you for any advice.

We had the same problem 'error-1603 VCSServiceManager failed' upgrading from vCenter 5.5 to 6.0U2, (win2012 r2, sql std 2012, all vcenter components are on the same one box).

We performed almost all recommended steps in this discussion with no luck. I just would like to mention additional actions suggested by VMWare tech support which helped us after all.

1. After each unsuccessful attempt to upgrade to 6.0U2 clear all the folders for the old installation, rename C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer to C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer.old because it contained server.xml with duplicate entries and other junk from previous failed attempts. .

2. In ODBC data source administrator rename SQL server name from 'local' to the netbios name of the server in DSN configuration.

3. There are several datastores located on each storage device containing several VMs. I use EMC VNX box as faster storage for Heartbeat. We need to power cycle EMC VNX5300 to fix some mostly cosmetic issue with it. I am wondering what would be the proper steps on VMware side to prepare to power cycle this box? I am planning to migrate a couple of mission critical VMs to slower IBM storage, also change Heartbeat datastores from EMC to IBM datastores.

Would it be better with two 1.4 GHz CPUs than with one 2.0 GHz CPU or one 1.4 GHz? I guess that two 2.0 GHz CPUs is the best choice but I do not have such option

We have ONLY four ESX 3.5 servers and 1 Virtual Center server 2.5...and a very limited budget. The Virtual Center 2.5 is running smoothly on HP Proliant DL380 G2 server with one CPU 1.4 GHz. I am planning to upgrade my VI3 to vShpere 4.

I read all hardware requirements for vCenter 4 but still would like to ask experts if I add one more 1.4 GHz CPU to my old HP Proliant DL380 G2 would it be able to run vCenter 4 software and monitor my four ESX servers upgraded to vSphere 4?

Thank you!

Thank you Kallex! I will definitely have a look at this AD policy. We

have not used "image level" backup before this case. It was my first

experience with restore the whole VM in production environment.

Warmest regards,

Varvara
