vCenter Appliance 7 backup fails?

Before I do an update of the vCenter appliance 7.0.3.00100 to 7.0.3.00300, I want to backup it up...obviously... After setting up an FTP site on a Windows Server 2019, I start the backup but it keeps failing at around the 15min mark. It does connect and create a folder on the Windows Server 2019 FTP server, but ends up failing in the end.

When it fails it says that I can view the logs at this URL (link below), but after trying to login with a local user admin account it says, "Invalid local user".

https://<domain>/appliance/support-bundle

Where can I view these logs. Can I use SSH to view the logs with vi?

I was successful in updating the vCenter Appliance from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3.00100, however I'm running into an issue updating the hosts. I have three ESXI hosts running version 7.0.2 on Dell PowerEdge R740.

When I start the "Remediation" process to have each host get updated automatically one at a time, the first host it tries to update goes through the process of migrating all of it's VM's off and then nothing happens and eventually gets all the VM's migrated back and that's it. That's all that happens and nothing gets updated. There are NO error messages I just get a yellow triangle mark next to the host.

Is there a "bug" in updating hosts to 7.0.3.00100? I can't be the only one having this issue...

Thanks,

I also installed the VCSA.

I don't need to upgrade vCenter. Forget about vCenter. I'm talking about the VM's itself. I have about 30 VM's.

What is the best way to upgrade the VM's OS from Server 2016 to Server 2019? I guess this is more of a Microsoft question.

I want to upgrade a Windows server 2016 virtual machine to a Windows server 2019 virtual machine. Should I do an in-place upgrade or create a whole new VM?

For testing proposes, I'm testing an alert when a VM powers off to send me and email notification. After powering ff the VM, it has yet to send me a successful email. I'm not sure if some updates has stopped this from happening or what. Is anyone else having this issue?

I've seemed to have lost that ability to have vCenter email notifications. Like I said, it was working in the past.

I do get other mail alerts from other apps like Veeam everyday, so I know the Office 365 email address or the SMTP server isn't the issue.

What am I missing in vCenter?

We have 5 EXSI host 6.0 and a vCenter server 6.5.

I'm trying to delete a folder that has the vm's files in it off the datastore. I receive an error message stating that the file are not accessible.

I am logged in with the local admin account.

Could it be that there is a locked file somewhere?

When I try to "Launch Web Console" to open a VM it doesn't work. I can login to the vCenter just fine, but I can't use the web client to remote into a VM.

I tried this on ie, chrome, edge and firefox. So far the only one that has been consistent was Chrome.

In chrome I have enabled flash. I am also an administrator in vcenter.

Why can I not Launch a web console to remote into a VM. It just spins and says "Loading....." until a message appears stating, "This site can't be reached".

I have a vsphere 6.5 test environment.

Everything is up and running and working fine, however I need to share the iscsi storage from 1 esxi host to another (esxi.abc.local to esxi2.abc.local). Would I just create a "ISCSI Software Adapter" on the 2nd esxi host (esxi2.abc.local) just like I did the first host (esxi.abc.local) and connect to the target iscsi server?

Again, I have iscsi storage attached to esxi.abc.local. I need the same storage shared to esxi2.abc.local.

I want to do this through vcenter 6.5.

Thanks,
