But, as per our security guide lines we cannot keep the source server password blank. My question , the password provided in custom spec ony used to set administrator password after sysprep or or used auto login ??

Hello All,

We have recently added couple data stores into SDRS cluster in vcenter, post that I have initiated the data collection from vRA compute resource and data collection is successfully. But not able to see the newly added data stores.

We have total 137 data stores mapped to that cluster, out of which only we could 103 data stores. Id there any limitation or some other issue ??

We are using vRA 7.4, Patch HF11.

Removing and Re-Adding the vRA host from external vRO will have any impact to existing Xaas Blue Prints ??

Hi Team,

We have simple deployment of vRA ( 1vRA, 1 IAAS , VRO Cluster ) , when I browse the inventory in external vro I could see two vra hosts and it is causing some of the workflows to fail. If I remove both and re -add will it have any impact to the existing XaaS blue prints ??

Hi All,

Recently we had one provisioning requests failed in guest customization phase and VM has been deleted as we set " Do Delete" option in IAAS server.

Based on the past experiences, we know most of the times guest customization fails because IP issue. When I check the network profile , I see IP has been released back to pool as unassigned status. To investigate further , I want know which IP was allocated to the VM which failed during the guest customization. We cannot check guest agent logs , as the VM already deleted. Is there any way or place where we can find this ?

One more thing we are suspecting failure could be because of resources utilization of the host where the vm had placed. How to find , on which host vm was deployed.

Hi All,

We have 7.3.1 Environment with external vRO configured, because of provisioning issues thought to restart the appliance and check. it worked in earlier cases. But after restarting , I have tried to check if the vRO connect, then I tested connection from Administration tab > Server Configuration. test connection is successful but, When I click ok it throwing an error.

" Service not found. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator".

How to change administrator@vsphere.local password in vRa 7.2 ?

Hello All,

We have vRA 7.2 environment with external vro and forgot the administrator@vsphere.local password.

When I login to WAMI page to change the password, I found the option to change the password in two tabs one is in vRA Settings>SSO and another on is in Admin tab.

What is the difference between these two user ID's and If I change the password what are all the places we need to update the new password ( like , vRO, etc ).

Need to check permission to the Fabric group , from where the compute resources are coming in and reservations created. Once you provide the access to fabric group, you could able to see the associated reservations.

I see lot of errors in vRA Infra Logs as below , not sure what exactly it mean. Is the dead lock on IAAS SQL server DB or in vRA postgress DB ??

Is there any work around or solutions for this ??

Not Able to view all the reservations in vRA 7.3

Hello All,

I am not able to view all the reservation in the vRA 7.3 environment , I am part of Tenant administrator,BG Administrator,Fabric Admin group. Still I could not see some of the reservations and the machine deployed in the particular reservation.

What is the access I should have and where to check ??

Can some one share the exact link from where I can down load the vRA 7.3.1upgrade ISO . Currently we have 7.2 version.

When I go to myvmware download page, I am getting an option to download vRA .ova file not ISO. as I read, it should be ISO file.

What is the procedure to upgrade the vRA 7.2 to vRA 7.3 , for simple installation 1vRO with external vRO and IAAS server. yes , there VMware Documentation , but looking for some real time upgrade sequence and issues or any blog which has already covered this.

1) What is the order to upgrade the vRA comments ( vRA,IAAS,vRO, etc )??

2) Does IAAS components need to upgade separately ??

3) I have Primary and Secondary vRO connected to single data base, how to upgrade ??

Hello All,

There is local user account called Darwin in the reference server( Golden Image), from where we will create template.

As part security compliance , we were asked to remove the local account. When I searched, got to know it used by Boot strap agent when preparing for the template user will be created.

There is confusion in vRM guest agent and Bootstrap agent what is the difference between both the agents and how exactly these agents are used during the server provisioning ??

If I remove the Darwin agent, will the server provisioning fail ??

Technically .. not required. If do not want see the errors in the vRA Infa logs please follow the shutdown and start up sequence.

ShutDown :

1) Proxy Agents.

2) Dem Workers

3) Dem Orchestrator

4) IAAS Manager

5) IAAS Web

6) vRA VA

7) MS SQL Server ( Data Base)

Load Balancer

Start Up :

Reverse order of shutdown.

There was different fabric group created for each VC and my ID did not had access to particular Fabric group. So , I was not able to see the Compute Resources,Reservations and VM deployed in that reservation.
