No, it's 3-Par. But I think I found the cause. The customer is using an NFS-share on Windows 2012R2 for synchronisation between datastores/datacenters. I think Windows 2012R2 NFS is not a supported storage for vSphere. Only strange thing is that initially the AppStack is thin provisioned. If I update the Appstack before replication has occurred, a thin provisioned clone is created. But if I update the Appstack after it has been replicated to the NFS-share and from the NFS-share to the other datastore, the copied AppStack also becomes thick provisioned.

In a new App Volumes 2.12.1 environment with vSphere 6.5, I'm experiencing something strange. When I update an Appstack, it usually creates a thin provisioned copy of the original Appstack. But in this new environment it creates a thick provisioned copy of the original Appstack. What can cause this behaviour?

Only difference is that the path to the executable is different so you have to edit the shortcuts in UEM.

%ProgramFiles%\microsoft office\root\office16\excel.exe for example.

Hi Mark, when I deploy AP 2.8 with RADIUS and a secondary RADIUS server, the setting "enabledAux" is still false. In the new admin interface, the second RADIUS server is also disabled.

It's working with Global catalog servers in the domain and without ssl connection to the domain. However, at the customer it is currently still not working, VMware support is trying to figure it out.

Messaging service is the Rabbitmq server. You can fix this by stopping and starting again in the right order:

VMware is working on a fix. Should be available somewhere in January. I reverted back to the snapshot from before the upgrade, it was not workable.

Very high CPU constantly on one of the IDM appliances

After upgrading to 2.8.0 I'm experiencing high CPU on the first node of our cluster of 3 Identity Manager Appliances. The process horizon is eating up all the CPU (between 170 and 190% constant). Rebooting the appliance did not solve the issue. When I stop the horizon-workspace service, the CPU is normal. Only the first appliance is having this issue.

Why would you Forcibly disconnect users after 720 minutes if they have dedicated virtual desktops? It's not like resources will become available for other users. I would set that to "never" as it might be the cause of the "sudden" disconnects (after 12 hours maybe??).

Also checked the configuration, the second RADIUS host isn't in the configuration, Added enabledAux=true to the config file, but that doesn't work as well. So it seems that deploying it with the INI file only works with 1 RADIUS server?

Thanks, just tested it. When deploying it only asks a shared secret for the first RADIUS-host, not for the second, is that correct?

There is no ap4-radius.ini included in the zip-file. Can you provide an example of configuring radius using powershell and an ini-file?

In the release notes of the Horizon client 4.1.0 for Linux it says:

H.264 support for Intel-based Linux devices

So not for ARM based devices. There's no new info in the release notes of 4.2.0 version.

It is not listed in the documentation as a requirement, but does vIDM need a secure LDAP connection with the domain if you want to allow password change through vIDM? If I read this, it should:

Question about changing expired passwords with Identity Manager. The documentation says: “The Allow Change Password option is not available for Active Directory environments that use a global catalog.”

Why is this? And if I have an environment with 2 DCs which are both GC, I cannot use this functionality? Can't you have gobal catalog servers at all in your environment? I think all of my customer environments uses Global catalog servers in their infrastructure...

Make sure there is no .txt file extension to the file locked.properties (File Explorer > show known file extensions).

Clear the cache of the Chrome browser you are using. Restart the Connection server if restarting the service doesn't help.
