Hi KenArcher,

- The DEM log shows that DnD only enabled the direction from Client to Agent, so please make sure your testing is just based on this direction. Also It shows the CDR is disabled, that means you can't do DnD for file and folder which replies on CDR feature. You can try to do DnD on string, picture.

- Are you using Horizon Windows Client? What's the client and agent version for the problem?

- From the description, "On the initial connection", DND can work fine. Have you tried to restart your remote desktop and what's the behavior then?

Thanks!

Hi Emil,

From the description, CDR doesn't work for first remote desktop connection and it can work well on the reconnection. And you are using 8.4 Windows Client + 8.4 Windows Agent + Blast protocol.

What's the Windows OS version on Agent?

Have you tried this with 8.5/8.6 Client/Agent?

What's the behavior when switching to PCoIP protocol?

Suggest to use SR to track this issue as debugging log is needed to get the root cause.

Hi Jpsmith8488,

VMware Horizon can help user to access the remote desktop. From description above, looks like you are finding a solution to use Mac Client to access the Physical Linux OS. Horizon can support physical Windows machine as the remote desktop now, but not on physical Linux OS. You can get more information from below link:

Using Horizon to Access Physical Windows Machines

https://techzone.vmware.com/resource/using-horizon-access-physical-windows-machines#architecture-and-design

Use predefined smart card is the option from HP thin client but not Horizon Client. Horizon Linux Client 2203 did the architecture changes. I think you can reach HP side to aware the issue and see whether they have done the integration testing with Horizon 2203.

Use predefined smart card: The connection is expected to be used with a smart card for authentication.

Re: VMware Horizon ios App w/ Bluetooth CAC Reader to access Remote Desktop

Hi Rafly20,

What's your Horizon iOS Client version? From Horizon 8, Physical smart card is not supported on Horizon mobile client. Derived Credentials(Virtual smart card) feature supports mobile Client. So far, only Purebred Credential Provider is supported by Horizon Mobile Client Derived Credentials feature. Purebred can manage the mobile device, and push the P12 format cert/key to your device. Then Horizon Client uses the cert/key for smart card authentication. From the description, looks like your environment doesn't involve Purebred.
