I have exactly the same problem. Win10. I tried some of the steps described by @Dapendragon. I also have another machine with Win10 on the same network and it works fine on it.

I dug a little into logs on both those machines and on the failing one I can see:

2023-10-18T20:30:02.973+02:00 EROR (01) [libcdk] : CdkUtil_GenerateDHKeyPair:3649: DH generate key failed.
2023-10-18T20:30:02.973+02:00 EROR (01) [libcdk] : CdkUtil_GenerateDHKeyPair:3658: Failed to generate DH key pair with error: error:2D073087:FIPS routines:FIPS_drbg_init:selftest failure.
2023-10-18T20:30:02.973+02:00 EROR (01) [libcdk] : CdkCryptoTaskRenewKeyParameters:271: Failed to renew the DH key pair.
2023-10-18T20:30:02.973+02:00 EROR (01) [libcdk] : CdkCryptoTask_CreateKeyParametersNode:502: Failed to renew the necessary key info.
2023-10-18T20:30:02.973+02:00 INFO (01) [libcdk] : CdkGetConfigurationTask_CreateRequest:302 Failed to create key parameters for the crypto task.

which is exactly the same what I see in the log attached by @Dapendragon.

Still no idea how to deal with it...

@FilipSafarwhere can I download this 32bit version from?

Two years later...

Sorry that my post is not strictly related to the problem. Just wanted to share experiences with PD8 after almost two years, specially as I mentioned it as a way to work-around the problem.

I was happy with PD8 until now, but theirs upgrade policy sucks... every two OSX releases PD forces theirs client to upgrade (with definitely isn't cheap), no matter if you need or not the new functionality. They simply claim, that PD stops to work after OSX upgrade (and this happens regularly 2 OSX versions).

So again looking for a solution... because I don't like to be forced in such a way to upgrade.

Apologize once more all of you, which would find this unrelated. And be aware of this PD upgrade policy...

Best!

Yes a new user... new Mac user even. Looking for some VM to run XP staff after migration. I started with Fusion, because VM was recognized brand for me. But I had a problem, similar to this described in this thread. So I thought that it is a good place to discuss about this problem in general.

There is no Fusion solution for this problem, at least as far as I know. So I tried other solutions, not Fusion-related. When I found it working I wanted to share with other people having the same problem as me, even if solution is not Fusion-related.

I apologize for sharing. I didn't know that on this forum only Fusion-related solutions are appropriate and welcome. I won't do this again (specially that after using trials I choose mentioned competition product).

Not very nice of you to put a label on a new user, just because he found and shared a solution not Fusion-related. It definitely easier to put a label "troll" on somebody, that add something valuable to discussion subject, isn't it? But yeah... you have 1,672 posts

Thanks to all open minded people who shared workarounds and valuable thoughts in this thread.

I found a solution - it's name is "Parallels Desktop 8". USB3 disk works without USB 2 hub/cable workarounds. PD8 probably downgrade USB3 to USB2, but in a software way - for me it's fine. I don't care about USB3 speed in VM XP. Just want to have it working without inconvenient workarounds (hubs, etc.)

So I switched to competition... and I'm happy with my choice.

All the best to all

In my case it means Seagate, beacuse Samsung had sold HDD division. But in reasonable time I wasn't able to find any XP USB 3 drivers for my hard disk at Seagate website.

I have a similar problem... I have MBP mid 2012, so only USB 3.0 ports. Guest: XP SP 3. USB 3 device: Samsung Portable M2 (NTFS).

Connecting it to the guest XP ends with "unknown device".

The only workaround I have found to make this USB 3 device be visible in VM was using some USB 2 hub/cable.
