Remove the Hyper-V role from the system before running VMware Workstation.

At one point I must have turned on Hyper-V within the Windows 10 Virtual Machine. But I am unable to remove the role, because I must power on to do so, and VMware Workstation is not allowing the VM to power up.

Anyone know how I may resolve this issue?

Thanks,

GeoB

Migrating hosts on DVS from vSphere 4.0 to vSphere 4.1?

Because of some third party application changes to our vCenter DB we have been unable to upgrade from 4.0 u1 to 4.1. So we decided to build a new 4.1 vCenter server, and then migrate the hosts. I have done this in the past with no downtime to the VMs that were running on the hosts. But now I have a cluster with a Distributed Virtual Switch, and now the migrations aren't so simple.

Does anyone know how I may migrate the hosts that have the DVS from one vCenter server to another? I would prefer to do this without an outage to the VMs. If I experienced a slight network outage I could live with that.

Also need to know if it's possible to change the unique identifier of the DVS? I have migrated one host as a test to see what would happen. The test VMs continued to run but the hosts wasn't aware of the DVS. I then created a new DVS on the new vCenter server. I gave the DVS the same name as the DVS on the old vCenter server, and configured all the portgroups the same also. The difference in the DVSs now seems to only be the unique identifier. Not sure if it would help to make them identical?

Thanks in advance for any help you maybe able to provide,

geob

Message was edited by: geob

But I had to hardcode the server name, and creds in the code. I'm no html or asp guru, but I would like to prompt the user for server name, and their credentials.

Also I was really looking to code a page that would allow the users to put in a VM guest name, and get back info, like CPU count, Disk, Memory, and host information.

-geob
