We have vCloud Usage Meter installed in our environment and I have looked at the release notes for upgrading to version 3.0, however the release notes give very basic steps on the process.

1. Transfer the patch file "usage-meter-300-update.zip" to root's home directory "/root" in the appliance.

2. Log in to the appliance as "root/".

3. Unzip "usage-meter-300-update.zip".

4. Use the command "cd usage-meter-300-update".

5. Use the command "./updateum".

My question is how do I transfer the file up in the first place??? I have started the ssh service using the following command:-

service sshd start

and the service is running but I am unable to connect using either ssh or WinSCP.

Does the appliance have a firewall that need configuring or am I missing something here?

Please forgive me not being a Linux expert so I may not have tried the obvious things.

Thanks for any help.

I've managed to solve my issue... the computer that I was using when trying to ssh for some reason is unable to do so... probably some network confgiuration...

When I tried from another machine on the same vlan it works fine.
