Hi

Is it possible to force a Cross Host vMotion eg. by changing Storage Profile?

The Problem ist this: we migrate the whole vCloud to new Datastores/new ESX Servers (Datastores are in differnet VLANs, ESX Servers are in the same VLAN's an in the same Cluster/Provider vDC as the old ones).

It seems that the ESX Servers uses the storage-vlans for SvMotion instead of the vMotion-VLAN. This slows down the migration, by reasons that i not understand, by a factor of 4-5x.

However, when i use Web Client to force a Cross-Host Migration, esx servers uses the vMotion Network and the migration is very fast.

Would vCloud Director do a Cross-Host vMotion within the same Provider vDC oder between two different Provider vDC's?

I'am familiar with powercli & vcloud API's, so, even there is no option through the GUI, maybe its possible through that?

regards,

Chris
