vSphere Fast track 6.5 and VCP-DCV 2020

Hey,

I took Fast track [6.5] class. Can I enroll for VCP 2020 exam?

Based on https://www.vmware.com/education-services/certification/vcp-dcv.html I need to attend 6.7 class, however I see the registration for 6.5 training is still open, so is that mean this one is useless in terms of 2020 certification?

I hold VCP5, but from my understanding this is not helping me a lot after 1-JAN-2020.

Based on your circumstances, I can't see an exam-only path for you:

It looks like your 6.5 training does give you a "shortcut" option:

VMware vSphere: What's New [V5.5 to V6.7]

So it's either take the What's New class, or a full class - plus pass the 2 exams.

From my understanding, 1st step now is VCA and then VCP exams.

Can you give me a hand with a link to the exam VCA 2020? What is prereq? It use to be online training and exam. Is this still valid?

On Pearson site I see only 2019. Can you tell if 2019 VCA passed exam can be a prereq to VCP 2020 exam?

No, there has never been any sort of "connection" between VCA and VCP - there is now only a single VCA (rather than for separate technologies like the VCPs) but as you're already a VCP5-DCV I wouldn't bother with it.

I believe I should bother myself about VCA because I need to pass this exam as well (any of the VCA exams as a prereq step and then VCP).

To summarize this: For VCA, online training and exam also online and then go for VCP (VCA exam as a prereq) + professional training + exam. Then cert is issued.

Am I right?

No, there is no link between VCA and any of the VCPs - VCA is an independent certification, you do NOT need to be a VCA to become a VCP.

If you're already a VCP5-DCV, you didn't need to take a VCA as part of that.

If you want to achieve VCP-DCV 2020, just focus on that as per my previous replies.

I see there is no 2020 version of Foundation for v.6.7. do you know if 2V0-01.19 is associated with VCP-DCV2020? I guess not.
