topic I've installed an existing VM Workstation 16 on New Laptop in VMware Workstation Pro Discussions

Not sure if I'm In the right forum, but I have installed a newer version of Workstation 16 (16.0 to 16.6) and then transferred an existing/working VM from old laptop, by way of external drive, onto my new laptop and tried to open it normally, it got all the way through the "Did you Move this file, or Copy this file" question before crashing entire system. I was informed to say "Move this File" by the way. I've even tried cloning the file while performing an upgrade to 16X and it still crashed the system with Error message about fatal error restart system and try again.

What should I do here? will I need to totally rebuild this VM in order for it to work again, if so, where do I start. I received this working VM from a colleague several years ago.
