topic cannot run vmtoolsd.exe in VMware Workstation Pro Discussions

cannot run vmtoolsd.exe

I am using vmware workstation pro 16 , the guest OS is WIndows 7.

I have installed VMware Tools in my guest machine.

but i can't run the main exe of VMware Tools .(vmtoolsd.exe)

It says

"应用程序无法正常启动(0xc0000022)。请单击“确定”关闭应用程序。"

(Application failed to start normally (0xc0000022).Please click "OK" to close the application.)

It makes me hardly use some functions like drag-in to the guest OS.

I need help.

You say the guest OS is Windows 7, but the screenshot is named Windows Vista...

Was this guest originally Vista and upgraded to Win 7? If so, make sure the virtual machine settings also are set to Win 7. The VMware Tools changed some time around then, and there are different packages, some for older versions of Windows.

Windows 7 VM needs to be updated with SHA-2.
