topic Export OVA/OVF Hash in VMware Workstation Pro Discussions

Has anyone found a way to get around the OVA export SHA256 problem.

I create software OVA images on VM Workstation Pro for import into ESXi and I set the hardware compatibility to Workstation 11 + ESXi server which support ESXi 6.0+ but the image it produces isn't actually compatible because it adds a SHA256 hash and ESXi 6.5 errors on import, meaning I have to use the ovftool to convert the hash every time.

Is there a hidden setting anywhere to change the hash system used or even better Workstation should really work out the Hash needed based on the Hardware compatibility?

For those who have stumbled on this thread hoping to find out a way to get around the "Invalid checksum algorithm: SHA256" error you want to checkout this article https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2151537

Thanks in advance.
