Compatibility with Hyper-V on Windows Server 2022 host.

Hi all,

Should I be able to run VMware Workstation Player 17 on a Windows Server 2022 host running Hyper-V?

When I run the installation, I get the following message :-

This host supports the Windows hypervisor platform, but the implementation
is incompatible with VMware Workstation 17 Player. Remove the Hyper-V role
from the system before running VMware Workstation Player.

The indicated article only makes any reference to Windows 10 as a supported host operating system.

This is for my home lab. I don't have any need to run VMware Workstation Player VMs and Hyper-V VMs concurrently, but I would like to be able to run each on the same host.

Found this article that states that Windows Server 2022 is a supported host for VMware Workstation 17 [https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/80807].

This post has now been viewed over 500 times, but sadly has not received any replies.

I'm fairly certain that I'm not the only person who is trying to do this.

I have now even tried the later release v17.0.2 and the error is still the same.

Hopefully VMware will find a way to fix this.

I successfully run VMware Workstation v17.0.0 and Hyper-V on Windows Server 2022.

What that persion mentioned below. The Chinese video explains it. But my Manderin is a bit rusty .....(Non-existent)

I need the Hypervisor to able to run docker for development and VMware workstation to run my test-lab.

I tried many things but it is either Hypervisor or WMware workstation.

The solution(credits to for the guy in the youtube video)

powershell with admin rights: **Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName HypervisorPlatform -All**
WARNING! : when you confirm with "Y" the server reboots immediately.
