Vmware automaticaly changes disk file location making my machines stop working.

I made a windows server 2019 in the following location D:\eindopracht netwerken p4\ServerGP. I worked on it for some time and everything worked as it should.

I restarted the machine and then i got the error "File required to power on this virtual machine. If this file was moved, specify the new location"

when I checked the location where I saved the machine it all was still there as it should. but the machine couldn't find it. I looked at the settings of the machine and saw that it thinks its in O:\eindopracht netwerken p4\ServerGP.

I dont even have anything connected to O:\ so it can't be there. I can try pointing it into the right place but it wont accept it and just goes back to the O:\ location.

does anyone know how to fix this or prevent this from happening?
