1) It's not easy to understand the log. You can check the Client UI log first: vmware-horizon-viewclient-YYYY-MM-DD-XXXXXX.txt. Get more information here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2203/horizon-console-administration/GUID-3127B73A-B6DB-44F3-856B-5FDB8E5C21FD.html

2) See the doc from Microsoft: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-client/performance/read-small-memory-dump-file

3) Set the GPO via vdm_common.admx

- Maximum number of debug logs: Specifies the maximum number of debug log files to retain on the system.

- Number of days to keep production logs: Specifies the number of days for which log files are retained on the system.

Hi all,

I'm a freelancer that accesses my client's work environment using a virtual machine setup using VMware Horizon Client which is set up locally on my side (obviously).

V: 2103

Build: 8.2.0

I've got all the log files and various .dmp files and I now need to see at what times I logged into their environment. So I have three questions:

1) what is the most appropriate log file or .dmp file to check when I used Horizon client to their client server? Ideally I would also like to capture when I've had to re-enter my credentials after the Horizon Client security times out (and forces me to CTRL_ALT_DEL)

2) What's the best way to open the .dmp files?

3) How far do these log files go? Ideally I'd need them to go back 6months.

Many thanks.

P
