Expand VDI C drive dependent disk grayed out

I have Instant clone VDI that I need to increase and individual machine hard disk, not all the VDI in the pool needs this, just a few, but they are all dependent and for some reason I cant resize them.

what am I doing wrong

You can't adjust a single VDI in the pool. They all depend on your master image. If you need to expand the C-drive, you need to expand your master image and push the new snapshot to your pool.
