topic Horizon view on a QNAP VM? in Horizon Desktops and Apps

Hi all,

Perhaps a daft question - could one successfully install and run viewagent and direct connection on a windows 10 VM hosted on QNAP's Virtualization Station?

Reason for the question is I'm considering a QNAP TS-673 for storage / Surveilance and running VM's, Windows 10, Windows Server for example.

Currently I've got a NUC running ESXI 6.7 with Windows 10 / Server and a couple other apps. Horizon view is running on the Windows 10 VM and can access this from a zero client in a seperate building, same network. Preference for the zero client is for security reasons.

I've had issues trying to install Horizon on non ESXI hosted VM's (Workstation Pro) but the install insists on locating a server whereas the ESXI hosted VM's simply instal the Horizon components directly. So was wondering if this was generic issue, or am missing a step somewhere...

TIA for any pointers...
