Unable to install run Fusion 13 on macOS Sonoma 14.0

Downloaded, ran installer, clicked on VMWare Fusion and I received "You can't open the application "VMWare Fusion" because it may be damaged or incomplete."

Mac Mini M2 Pro with latest Sonoma beta.

I've had no issues with the Sonoma beta 1, 2 or 3 with Fusion, might just be a corrupted download.

Try re-downloading? You can also verify the md5 or sha256 sum of the download to ensure it's complete (it's published in the Customer Connect download portal)

I have the same exact issue. I have downloaded twice. When I run the installer it comes up with "Initializing VMWare Fusion" and the bar cycles back an forth for a couple seconds and then the window closes. After that there is a VMWare icon under application with the circle slash NO sysmbol on it and I get the same error the OP has.

2020 Mac Mini M1, 16gb RAM, Latest Sonoma public beta.

Was Fusion installed on the Mac before you installed the public beta? If so, can you try a full manual uninstall of Fusion (per KB article https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1017838) and not simply drag the application to the trash. Make sure you get files in both the systemwide /Library folder, and the files in ~/Library (aka /Users/<your user name>/Library).

Then reboot and reinstall.

If that doesn't work, have you tried the Fusion 2023 Tech Preview?

And as @Mikero says, did you verify the download's hash to make sure it downloaded correctly?

That sounds very much like a corrupt download. Try a different browser with no plugins/adblockers/download accelerators installed.

You could also try the tech preview.

I tried downloading several times to no avail.

I re-imaged the mac mini pro back to Ventura, then downloaded and installed Fusion 13 with no issues.

For Sonoma, I'd suggest using the tech preview.

Note that if you're using Open core, Fusion will not work with either Ventura or Sonoma.

Dragging to the desktop does not work any more for the latest Sonoma developer beta. I solved this by opening the dmg file with admin privilege.

Fusion always requires installing and running as an admin. If you're doing something else, or having to do that manually, there's something wrong or highly customized with your workstation configuration.

Yeah that worked for me too following your suggestion I dragged the DMG from Downloads to Desktop. Opened it, and this time the installer actually worked. Bizarre but it worked, so cheers.

Had the same problems. In the end I had to double click the installer and next just drag the Fusion app icon to the Application folder. BAM, done.

Thank you for that tip! I was able to get Fusion installed after doing this.

UPDATE: It still failed to launch the next time I tried to run it, but @diego171's response below worked completely:

Copy the "Vmware Fusion.app" from the installer DMG to your /Applications folder and run it from there. It'll work reliably after that.
