Hello, I can't copy and paste from one machine (Mac) to the Linux machines. before it was possible. So what can I do solve the problem? Thank you Toni

you can try via samba protocol.
Once you have configured the folder on linux as shared by the mac from the top menu of the Finder --> Go --> Connect to Server and enter the machine name of the VM

Have you installed open-vm-tools and open-vm-tools-desktop?

Samba/file sharing has nothing to do with copy/paste.

I thought copy and past didn't work everywhere, instead it only don't works with windows 11

No, copy/paste works fine with Linux guests. It doesn't work with Windows 11 on M1 processors. It does work on Windows Intel.

Maybe this was obvious to everyone else but me, but the workaround for the lack of copy/paste in Fusion is . . . Remote Desktop! I just RDPed into my WinARM11 instance, and I can copy/paste!

I can't believe it took me this long to stumble upon it.

Same. I have Fusion 13.0.2 and using it with OSX 12.6.5. 2015 Macbook Air. It had been working fine even with the recent OSX and Fusion upgrades, but now it doesn't work. All of my upgrades and tools are up to date. Please help. I haven't been able to find anything useful online to solve this problem.

If you're using OLCP (open core) there are known incompatibilities with it and Fusion 13/Ventura - downgrading to a supported stack is the best option (there are workarounds posted in other threads, but YMMV).

If not, nothing else has really changed on the VMWare side.

Has this been resolved yet? I have Fusion 13.0.2 and WIndows 11, cannot copy and paste even after installing the VMWare tools.

And by “much better” that means that copy/paste/drag/drop works for Windows 11 ARM, along with some other things like soft power operations (suspending VMs now works), 3D acceleration, time sync with host, and the VM recognizes when the window size changes and changes resolution accordingly.

The tools in Fusion 13 for Windows 11 ARM only have a video driver and a network driver. No other host integration features are available. If you’re running Windows 11ARM on Fusion 13, that’s why you’re seeing what you see.

Tools 12.3 for Windows 11 ARM was released a week or so ago too. My business partner has installed it on his M1 Mac which is running Fusion 13.0.2. Now has copy/paste, time synching after suspend, full large monitor support etc. A happy little vegemite as we say down under (sometimes).

That’s a very interesting observation since we were told by @Mikero in this forum that the updated tools required the 2023 Tech Preview. Does the 3D acceleration work (my suspicion is no). How’s the speed for large file transfers with drag/drop - the Tech Preview reportedly had work done to “turbocharge” the host/guest transfer speed that was not present in Fusion 13.

M1 MacBook Pro, 32GB memory

On the W11 ARM VM...

Copying a file from a NAS server via Gigabit ethernet (Caldigit dock) averaged 74 MB/sec. Interestingly, copying the file back up to the NAS server averaged 110 MB/sec.

Can't really comment on 3D graphics on the VM - we use our VMs for software development. However the system now runs properly with 2 monitors + the Retina screen on the Mac.

My MacBook Pro is a 2019 core i7 with 32 GB memory.,and the VM is also running Windows 11

The same file averaged 25 MB per second from the NAS and 75 up to the NAS. Also with the same model Caldigit dock and 1 Gb ethernet.

Both systems use CrowdStrike/Falcon for security

The drag/drop between host and guest is the area that got the performance boost in the tech preview, not anything to with moving data over the network.

I’m glad to hear that thie tools are working for you in Fusion 13. That indeed is unexpectedly good news.

Ye i installed it on the iMac with intel.

in the old version it worked fine but in 13 it doesn't work.

Yes I installed the tools. But in 12 it works fine after upgrade it doesn't work .
