Now to answer your query, most of the advanced configuration changes will require a reboot. You can either run the command &lt;<STRONG>esxcfg-advcfg -s 1 /Net/FollowHardwareMac</STRONG>&gt; or edit the <STRONG>esx.conf</STRONG> file to manually change the MAC address.
