Hello,

I am newbie about vSphere.

One of my clients has a problem with VMware Tools.

After some works (it seems kernel update), VMware Tools doesn't start automatically.

All of VM which use Windows OS are okay.

But All of VM which use Red hat Linux OS have same problem. (Redhat Linux 6.X and 7.X)

I have already found KB and tried to solve the problem by using KB

( VMware Tools fail to start after a Linux guest operating system kernel upgrade (2050592) | VMware KB )

( VMware Tools does not start after updating the kernel - Red Hat Customer Portal )

But I couldn't find 'vmware-config-tools.pl'

1. What Should I do in this case ?

2. Why is 'VMware tools install menu' grayed out ?

3. Although I didn't install VMware Tools, Are VMware tools installed automatically in Linux OS?
