I have 2 ESXi 6.0 3380124 hosts running under a main server host also running on the same version. Each of the nested ESXi has a Intel 10GbE NIC port passed through to it for iSCSI traffic. I have the volumes configured and they had been connected to the main host server for awhile for use until I wanted to try doing a nested setup. I am able to add the storage adapter within the nested ESXi, and its even able to see the respective volumes, but they do not mount automatically as expected. The only option I am given if I go "Add Storage..." is to format the volumes, which I do not want to do. As far as I know, since the NICs are passed through, promiscuous mode should not affect this at all. I did try turning that on to see if it made any difference, and it didn't. What am I missing here?

Take a look at the following link:https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27032673/VMware-wants-to-format-an-existing-VMFS.html

May be a signature issue with the LUN. Good luck.
